Roots was born from a simple idea and a drive to bring it to life. In 1973, Michael Budman and Don Green founded Roots, inspired by their love for Ontario’s Algonquin Park and all it represented. What began in Toronto with footwear has since expanded to include high-quality leather bags, jackets, accessories, the iconic salt & pepper sweats, natural fiber clothing, and home furnishings. Our leather goods have always been and continue to be crafted in Canada, produced in our own factory in Toronto.
